Inserting a Movie

“Movies” are desktop video files with formats such as AVI, QuickTime, and MPEG, and the file extensions such as .avi, .mov, .qt, mpg, and .mpeg.

To Insert a Movie:

  1. From the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, click the Movie from file, locate the folder that contains the file you want, and then double-click the file.
  2. When a message is displayed, do one of the following:
    • To play the movie automatically when you go to the slide, click Yes.
    • To play the movie when you click it, click No.

Inserting Sound

To Insert Sound
  1. Display the slide to which you want to add music or sound effects
  2. From the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and select Insert a sound file
  3. When a message is displayed, do one of the following:
    • To play the music or sound automatically when you go to the slide, click Yes
    • To play the music or sound only when you click the sound icon, click No

Inserting Action Buttons

An action button is a ready-made button that you can insert into your presentation and define hyperlinks for.

Insert an Action Button:

  1. Select the slide you want to place a button on.
  2. From the Slide Show menu, point to Action Buttons, and then select the button you want - for example, Home, Back, or Previous, Forward or Next, Beginning, End, Return, or Blank.
  3. Click and drag your mouse to draw your action button on your slide.
  4. Make sure the Hyperlink to is selected. Click the arrow in the Hyperlink to list area and select slide. Select the slide you want to link the button to.
